Description
The Culture Language Arts Network (CLAN) and Native Fitness and Nutrition (FAN) programs are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Collection staff member to support program evaluation and community planning efforts. This part-time position plays an essential role in documenting program participation, outcomes, and community needs while supporting culturally grounded programming for urban Native youth, families, and community members. The data collected through this role helps strengthen programs, inform decision-making, and ensure community voices and experiences are reflected in program development and reporting.
Program
The Native CLAN Program organizes traditional cultural activities for youth, families, and the community, including opportunities to learn Indigenous languages. Native CLAN works to build a healthy, supportive urban Native community grounded in cultural values and traditions. The Native Fitness and Nutrition (FAN) program supports community wellness through culturally relevant physical activity and nutrition education.
Summary
This position assists MAIC programs in collecting, organizing, and managing program data as part of evaluation, reporting, and planning processes. Responsibilities include gathering participation data, administering surveys, assisting with focus groups and interviews, entering data into databases, and supporting reporting efforts.
Responsibilities
- Participate in training on data collection methods, data entry and management, confidentiality, and data security
- Collect participant sign-in sheets at program sessions, activities, and events and ensure forms are fully completed
- Complete session logs to document activities and relevant session information
- Work with the evaluator to administer surveys measuring program outcomes
- Assist with participant focus groups as needed
- Support qualitative data collection, including videotaped or recorded interviews
- Enter data accurately into spreadsheets and other data management systems
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with data security requirements
- Assist with compiling data and preparing information for sharing with the community
- Help staff complete required program reports by extracting and compiling information from forms and databases
- Meet regularly with Program Directors and relevant staff to ensure all data collection opportunities are covered
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- Ideal for college students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field
- Familiarity with spreadsheets and/or database software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Awareness of and respect for the American Indian community and its needs
- Native American preference
- Must successfully complete and pass required background checks

- Schedule: Flexible (10 – 20 hours/week); occasional evening hours are required
- PTO: 2.00 hours/pay period (52.00/year)
- Holidays: Up to 15 days/year, 1 Personal Day
