Position Overview:

As a 3D Machine Control Technician with our Concrete Paving Division, your primary responsibility will be to manage the technology that guides our construction equipment, including Robotic Total Stations and GPS. You will work closely with the paving crew and be responsible for loading files (3D models) into the computers, managing files, and setting up the total stations to guide pavers and trimmers.

General Duties and Functions:

  • Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects
  • Be aware of and familiar with the Company Handbook
  • Additional duties as assigned by management, as this job description is non-exhaustive
  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work. (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Work closely with the paving crew to manage the technology that guides our construction equipment
  • Load files (3D models) into the computers and manage files
  • Work with Robotic Total Stations or GPS
  • Work with radios, computers, and a rover to help guide equipment
  • Take care of the survey equipment, measure as-builts, set stakes, and check control
  • Perform GPS Site Localizations/Calibrations on projects to guide grading equipment

Position Requirements:

  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Willing to travel during the construction season
  • Lift heavy objects, tear down, maintain, repair, and clean equipment
  • Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills
