Woodlands Indian Craft Shop
Woodland Indian Crafts Shop has been a staple of the Minneapolis American Indian Center for the past 50 years. It houses a unique selection of handmade gifts created by local artists, including authentic beadwork, wood carving, and paintings. Current owner/proprietor Charlie Stately (Red Lake Nation) has owned and operated the shop since 1979. The official name is Woodland Indian Crafts Shop, but many know the space as “Charlie’s Store.”
The shop is located on the first floor of the Minneapolis American Indian Center, next to Two Rivers Gallery. Hours may fluctuate during powwow season because Charlie vends at powwows across the region. We recommend calling ahead on Fridays during the summer to ensure the store is open.
