Prevention Specialist

The project goal of the Minneapolis American Indian Center’s Native Culture, Language and Arts Network (CLAN) is to prevent or delay the onset use of alcohol and drugs among Native American youth ages 5 to 18 in the urban Twin Cities area by strengthening cultural identities, fostering a sense of purpose, and promoting a sense of community support.
(Salary: $38,000 – $40,000 / yr)

Internship Coordinator

The Native Language Infusion Program is funded by ANA and MN Indian Affairs Council. The Native Infusion Program strengthens community coordination to increase interest in learning Native language (Dakota & Ojibwe) and expands Native language learning opportunities. The Internship Coordinator will recruit and supervise college students and/or those studying Native languages to work at Minneapolis American Indian Center (MAIC) in the language program.
(.75 FTE, includes pro-rated benefits)

Tribal Liaison

 
Position Summary:
Currently we are hiring for a Tribal Liaison in the ICWA program at MAIC.  Our Tribal Liaisons work directly with out of state tribes to provide court recommendations on behalf of the tribe and assist Native American families who have child protection cases in metro area counties.  The Tribal Liaison work with families who are eligible with tribes out of the state of MN, which provides a unique job experience and opportunity to learn about many different tribes across the US.   Experience with ICWA, or social service experience is preferred.  Degree in social services related field or at least two years experience required.

Cafe Intern

We are a community-embraced café that encourages living healthy, eating healthy and education through ancestral knowledge. Gatherings Café serves fresh, locally grown foods that are Indigenous and prepared in healthy ways. We are in the heart of the urban Native American community where people gather to catch up with friends and family. Over the span of weeks you will be taught food service knowledge by Industry professionals in a fast paced, creative environment. We offer the opportunity to learn while receiving a stipend. Every other month beginning in January we will be recruiting. Native American preference
